So, I finally pulled the trigger and got myself an Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch, the one with the transparent case back. I’ve been eyeing this beauty for a while now.
The Journey Begins
First, I started digging around online, just to see what people were saying about it. I read a bunch of reviews and forum posts. Found some stuff about different caliber versions, like the 1861 and 1863. Honestly, it got a bit confusing. I mean, does it really matter? Then I stumbled upon a post where some guy’s watch just stopped working. Yikes! That made me a little nervous, not gonna lie. After that, I found out that the watch I wanted uses the 1863 caliber. Whew, that is good to know.
The Decision-Making Process
Next, I started thinking about where to actually buy the thing. I mean, it’s a pretty big purchase, you know? This watch is a big deal – it went to the moon! It’s not every day you buy a piece of history like this. I found out that the watch I bought was the original moonwatch. It’s also fine to wear in water since it’s water-resistant up to 50 meters. I didn’t want to get ripped off or end up with a fake, so I decided to go through a reputable dealer, but I had to find it. I just searched for days in the internet or in my city. I asked some of my friends. It’s a very long process.
The Purchase
Finally, I went to the store. I walked into the store, and there it was. The Speedmaster, just sitting there, looking all shiny and awesome. It is really beautiful in person. I tried it on, and man, it felt amazing on my wrist. It has a good weight, very comfortable. I talked to the salesperson, asked a few more questions, and then I did it. I swiped my card. Boom! Transaction complete.
Living with the Moonwatch
Now that I’ve had it for a while, I’m totally in love. I love winding it up every day, hearing the little clicks. It’s like a little ritual. I find myself looking down at it all the time, even when I don’t need to know the time.
- The look: It’s just so classic and cool. Goes with everything.
- The feel: Like I said, it feels great on the wrist. Solid and substantial.
- The history: Knowing it’s the same model that went to the moon is just mind-blowing.
So yeah, that’s my story. It took a while to decide on the watch. But it’s totally worth it. If you’re thinking about getting one, just do it. You won’t regret it.
