Okay, so I’ve been wanting to get my hands on this OMEGA Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch, the one with the see-through back, for a while now. It’s like, the classic Moonwatch everyone thinks of, you know? It’s got that manual-wind thing, the Hesalite crystal, and that basic black dial. Feels like the real deal, the one they actually wore on the Moon.
Getting Started
First, I wanted to make sure I was getting a real one, not some cheap knock-off. So, I started by digging around online, reading forums, and watching videos. I learned that you gotta check the little details, especially on the dial and the hands.
Inspecting the Dial and Hands
I made sure to get a good look at some high-quality pictures before I even thought about buying. I was looking for anything that seemed off. You know, like spelling mistakes, weird spacing, anything like that. Omega is a big-name brand, so they’re not going to mess up those kinds of details. I even used a magnifying glass, yeah, I went full detective mode!
Checking the Movement
Then there’s the movement inside. I found out that if you see two of those regulator arm things on the back, it’s probably a fake. The real OMEGA movement is a piece of art, and you can tell it’s legit just by looking at it. This one’s got that Co-Axial calibre 8500, which is visible through the transparent back. It’s a beauty, man!
Putting It All Together
- Research: I spent hours online learning about what to look for.
- Inspection: I checked the dial and hands with a magnifying glass.
- Movement: I made sure the movement was the correct one for this model.
After all that, I finally pulled the trigger and got myself the watch. It felt awesome to finally have it in my hands. It was a bit of a process, but totally worth it to make sure I got the real deal. Now I’ve got a piece of history on my wrist, and I can check it out through the back whenever I want!
