Okay, so I was scrolling through my phone the other day, just killing time, and I stumbled upon this Fendi Oyster bag. You know, the one that looks like a little pouch? Anyway, I thought, “Why not try to make a copy of it?” Not to sell or anything, just for fun, to see if I could.
First thing I did was to take a good long look at the pictures of the bag. I noticed all the details – the FF logo, the zipper, the stitching. Then I started gathering materials. I found some leather scraps in my craft box that were pretty close in color to the original bag. For the FF logo, I thought maybe I could use some metal pieces I had lying around, or maybe even cut them out of an old belt or something.
Fendi hardware
- Engraved or marked with the “FF” logo or “FENDI”
- On the clasp, bottom feet, metal attachments, metal studs, or zipper bottom stop
- The back of zippers should also have the Fendi logo
I started by cutting out the main pieces of the bag from the leather scraps. I used a picture of the real Fendi bag as a guide for the shape and size. It was a bit tricky, but I managed. Then came the hard part – the FF logo. I tried a few different things, but in the end, I decided to cut out the letters from a thin sheet of metal I found in my garage. It took a while, but I think they turned out okay.
Serial Numbers
- Found on the back of the interior leather logo tag (never fabric)
- Or in a corner or pocket near a seam
- The logo should be uniform and embossed into the leather cleanly
Next, I stitched the pieces together. I’m not the best at sewing, but I did my best to make it look neat. I even added a zipper, just like the real bag. I found an old zipper in my sewing kit that was the right size. Finally, I attached the FF logo to the front of the bag. I used some strong glue to make sure it wouldn’t fall off.
The 2B Copy Quote
While I was working on the bag, I remembered this quote from a character called 2B Copy in that game NieR:Automata. I don’t remember it exactly, but it was something about striving to be the best. It kind of inspired me to keep going, even when things got tough. And then there’s that 2BA Master song, “Go! Go! So you want to be a Pokemon master…” It just stuck in my head, go figure.
Oh, and I was flipping through this EnglishFile4e Intermediate TG PCM Grammar 2B PDF I found. Don’t ask me why, I just was. It’s weird, the things that pop into your head when you’re focused on a project.
In the end, I think my Fendi Oyster bag copy turned out pretty good. It’s not perfect, of course, but it looks similar to the real thing. And it was fun to make. Maybe I’ll try making copies of other designer bags in the future. Who knows?
