Well, let me tell you, these days, you see them young’uns walkin’ around with them fancy watches. Shiny and flashy, they are. Reminds me of them Rolex watches, you know the ones. But they ain’t real, no sir. They’re what they call high imitation, fancy word for fake. I heard they even got stores for these things, specialty stores for high imitation Rolex, imagine that!
Now, I seen this one, a Rolex Submariner, they call it. This one, it was two-tone, part silver, part gold-lookin’. And blue, a pretty blue, like the sky on a sunny day after a good rain. That blue part they call Blue Submariner. They got specialty stores for these two-tone Blue Submariner. Can you believe it? Selling fake watches like they’re sellin’ candy! These high imitation Rolex, they look just like the real ones. These two-tone ones are something else, that blue is real eye catching.
They say the real ones, them Rolex, they cost a lot of money. A whole heap! More than I ever spent on anything in my whole life, I reckon. These fake ones, these high imitation Rolex, they’re cheaper. Not cheap like a five and dime, but cheaper than a real one. Still, you gotta be careful. Some of them fakes are better than others.
I heard some folks talkin’ about the blue ones, the two-tone Blue Submariner. They say the blue ones, even the real ones, they don’t keep their value like the plain black ones. Don’t ask me why, I just know that’s what they say. They say the gold part, even if it’s real, it loses its shine after a while, I suppose. So buying a real two-tone might not be as good as the plain ones. But the high imitation Rolex don’t care about that I guess. They’re fake anyway, just for show.
You want a real Rolex, a steel one, they say you gotta pay a good chunk of change, something like nine or ten thousand. For a watch! Can you imagine? That’s more than my old car cost! Harder to tell the difference. They even have these specialty stores dedicated to selling the fake ones, it’s a whole business now. Imagine that, a whole specialty store for high imitation Rolex two-tone Blue Submariner, a whole store dedicated to selling fake things, claiming they’re the same as the real deal.
Some folks, they just want somethin’ that looks like a Rolex, don’t care if it’s real or not. They just want the look, the two-tone, the blue. They just want to buy from these specialty stores. They want that Blue Submariner look, even if it’s a fake, a high imitation. They just want the look, the status, or whatever they think it brings. Makes no sense to me. If I had that kind of money, I’d buy somethin’ useful, not some high imitation Rolex. Somethin’ that would last, somethin’ that would help me out, not just sit there on my wrist lookin’ pretty. But these young people, they don’t think like that, I guess. They see them two-tone Blue Submariner watches in them specialty stores, and they just gotta have one, real or not. It’s a crazy world, ain’t it?
Maybe I’m just too old. Don’t understand these things no more. Maybe these two-tone high imitation Rolex are the way of the future. But I still think if you want something, you should get the real thing. Not some fake from a specialty store. A Blue Submariner might be pretty, but it ain’t worth much if it ain’t real. That’s what I think, anyway. But what do I know? I’m just an old lady, I don’t know nothing about these fancy watches, real or high imitation.
