Okay, so I’ve been eyeing the Rolex GMT-Master II, especially that “Batman” version. Man, it looks slick! But, you know, these things cost an arm and a leg. So, I started thinking, maybe a good fake is the way to go? But then I got to reading, and not all fakes are created equal, right?
I started digging around online, just to see what’s up with these replica watches. I found some forums and stuff where people were talking about their experiences. Some folks seemed pretty happy, but others, not so much. It seems like the reliability can be all over the place. Like, some of these fakes might look the part, but they could just stop working after a few months. That’s not what I want.
Check the Hands
One thing I learned is that you can supposedly spot a fake by looking at how the hands are stacked on the watch face. Apparently, on a real Rolex GMT-Master II, the hands should be in this order: Hour, GMT, then Minutes. If they’re not like that, it’s probably a fake. Good to know, right?
So, I decided to take a chance, I ordered one online. It took about a week to arrive. I have to say the watch looks amazing and feels heavy. Then I started playing around with it.
More details
- I opened the box.
- I took the watch out.
- I started wearing it.
- I checked the hands order, it is correct, hour hand on the bottom, then GMT hand, then minute hand.
So far so good, I will wear it for a while to see how it goes. And I will keep you guys posted. Wish me luck!
