Today I tried to do a high imitation Rolex GMT-Master II Batman Bezel Classic Style watch, and I think it’s a good one, so I want to share with you guys.
First, I found some information about the Rolex GMT-Master II Batman. I saw the price online was around $15,883, which is crazy! And you know what, if you wanna buy it at retail or grey market price, you might have to wait for like three years. Some people even said it’s a good investment. Well, I’m not that rich, so I decided to try making a replica.
I searched for parts online, and boy, it was a lot of work. I found some good quality watch cases, a blue and black bezel just like the real Batman, and a nice movement. Some people say that some replica GMT movements are not that good. Hopefully, I picked a good one.
- Watch case: I got a stainless steel case that looks pretty much like the original one.
- Bezel: This is the key part. I found a ceramic bezel with a blue and black color that looks just like the Batman.
- Movement: I chose a movement that is said to be reliable, but we’ll see about that.
- Bracelet: I went with an Oyster bracelet because it’s known for being sporty and rugged. I know there is a “Batgirl” version with a Jubilee bracelet, but I prefer the Oyster.
Putting it all together wasn’t easy. I had to be really careful not to mess anything up. After hours of work, I finally did it. And you know what, it looks pretty darn good! Of course, it’s not a real Rolex, but it gives me the same vibe for much less money.
I wore it around for a few days, and it kept time pretty well. The bezel looks awesome, and the bracelet feels good on my wrist. Overall, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. It’s not perfect, but it’s a fun project, and I saved a ton of money.
I’ve also read that a real GMT-Master II can cost anywhere from $11,000 to over $100,000, I could buy a car with that much. I think I made a good choice.
So, if you’re thinking about getting a Rolex Batman but don’t want to spend a fortune, maybe you can try making one yourself. It’s a fun challenge, and you’ll learn a lot about watches in the process.
My Final Thoughts
This was a really cool project. I got to learn a lot about watches, and I ended up with a cool-looking piece that I’m proud of. It’s not a real Rolex, but it doesn’t have to be. It’s my own creation, and that’s what makes it special.
