This here Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Reverso Tribute Chronograph, it’s a fancy thing. I hear tell it’s a special watch, somethin’ called a “Reverso.” They say it flips over, got two faces. Two faces, can you believe it? Now, I ain’t never seen one in person, but I seen pictures. Pictures of that watch. Fancy watch. That watch, it is special.
They got these fancy shops, called “specialty stores,” where they sell ’em. Rich folks go in there, buyin’ up these watches. Cost a pretty penny, I reckon. More than I ever made in a year, that’s for sure. But folks say it’s worth it. They say it’s a good watch, keeps time real good. Keeps good time, that watch. Good watch, that one.
Why Folks Buy That Fancy Watch

- It’s got two faces. That’s right, two.

They got all these numbers on it, too. 49.4 mm by 29.9 mm, they say. And 11.4mm thick. Sounds big to me. I like a watch that ain’t too heavy. Heavy watch is no good. Light watch, that’s the way.
They got somethin’ called a “Caliber 860 movement” inside. Sounds like a car engine. Must be what makes it tick. And that’s based on another one, from a long time ago, 1998. That was a good year, I remember. A long time ago. That was a good year.
Fake Watches Out There
But you gotta be careful. Lots of fake ones out there, they say. Tryna trick ya. They look real, but they ain’t. Like a wolf in sheep’s clothin’. They call ’em “counterfeit.” Bad news, those are. No good. Fake watch is no good. Gotta get the real thing.
You see, they got these fellas, they make these fake watches. Tryna make a quick buck. They don’t care ’bout quality. Just want your money. So you gotta watch out. Don’t get fooled. Gotta be careful with your money.
I heard tell they sell ’em online, too. The internet. That’s a scary place. Full of tricks and traps. Gotta be real careful on there. If you buy online, that’s a risk. Risky business, that is. Best to see it in person, I always say.
The Real Jaeger-LeCoultre
Now, this Jaeger-LeCoultre, that’s a name, ain’t it? Sounds French. They say it’s a good brand. Been around a long time. Like that old oak tree down by the creek. Strong and sturdy. Good watch, that is. If it is a real one, of course. Not a fake.
This Reverso thing, they say it’s their most famous one. Their “iconic design.” Like a picture, I guess. Somethin’ everybody knows. Like that old song, everybody knows that one. This watch, it’s like that. Everybody knows it.
They say it was made for polo players. Horses and all that. Rich folks’ game. They needed a watch that wouldn’t break. So they made this one, with the flippin’ face. Keeps it safe, I reckon. Smart thinkin’. Smart watch, that one. Polo players, they like that watch.
That Flippin’ Face
That’s the thing about this Reverso, that flippin’ face. It’s what makes it special. You can flip it over, hide the watch face. Protect it. Like a turtle in its shell. Safe and sound. Nobody can hurt it. That’s why it’s special.
Some of ’em got a metal back, they say. Plain and simple. Others got another watch face on the back. Two for the price of one, I guess. That’s a good deal, maybe. Two watches, that’s good.
Is It Worth It?
Now, I don’t know if I’d buy one. Too much money for me. I’m happy with my old watch. It tells time just fine. But for some folks, it’s worth it. They like that fancy stuff. Makes ’em feel good. If it’s real, that’s good. Fake is no good.
They say it’s a good investment, too. Like buyin’ land. It’ll be worth more later. Maybe that’s true. I don’t know ’bout that. But if you got the money, maybe it’s a good idea.
