Buying a Fake JLC Rendez-Vous Tourbillon: Whats the Price Range?

Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with watches lately, and let me tell you, it’s a wild world out there. Today, I tried to copy a fancy watch called the Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-Vous Jewellery Tourbillon. Yeah, that’s a mouthful, right?

First, I looked up this watch online. Found out it’s worth, like, $43,326 or something crazy like that. It’s got this thing called a “tourbillon,” which is apparently a big deal in the watch world. And diamonds, three circles of them, and mother-of-pearl dial. Super extra, just the way I like it.

I started by gathering some materials. I didn’t have any rose gold lying around, obviously, so I just used some regular metal I found in my garage. I also needed something for the diamonds. I figured glitter would do the trick. It’s sparkly, right?

Drawing the Design

  • I drew a circle on the metal. That was easy enough.
  • Then I tried to draw the tourbillon thingy. It’s kind of like a little cage that spins around. I don’t really get it, but it looks cool. My drawing looked more like a squiggly mess, but whatever.
  • Next, I glued some glitter around the circle to make it look like diamonds, three rows, just like the real one. I also used some white paint to imitate the mother of pearl dial.

After that, I had to make the watch hands. I just cut out some thin strips of metal and glued them on. They don’t actually move, but who’s gonna check, right?

Putting it all together was a bit of a challenge. I used a lot of glue, and my fingers were pretty sticky by the end. But hey, I managed to stick everything together, more or less.

The final result? Well, it doesn’t exactly look like the real Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-Vous. It’s a bit rough around the edges, and the glitter is kinda falling off. But you know what? I made it myself, and that’s gotta count for something. Plus, I saved myself over $43,000.

Anyway, it was a fun little project. Maybe I’ll try to copy another fancy watch next week. Any suggestions?
