Alright, let’s talk about this… uh… this fancy bag, the YSL Envelope thingy. Don’t rightly know what all them letters mean, but folks say it’s a good one.
What is this YSL Envelope Bag?
Well, from what I gather, it’s a purse, a fancy one. They call it “Envelope” ‘cause it looks like, you know, a letter holder. Made by some fella named Saint Laurent, or maybe it’s a lady, hard to say with these city names. Sounds French, though, like them fancy perfumes. They make all sorts of things, this Saint Laurent, clothes and shoes and whatnot, but this here bag, that’s what we’re talkin’ ‘bout.
Where Can You Get It?
- The Official Store: Now, if you got money to burn, you can go to the Saint Laurent “official” store, online they say. Probably all spiffed up and expensive, but that’s where the real deal is, I reckon.
- Other Fancy Shops: Places like Nordstrom, they sell it too. Heard they got it in stores, or you can get it online, if you’re into that computery stuff. Free shippin’ they say, and you can send it back if you don’t like it.
- Second-hand Stores: Now, if you’re like me, and watchin’ your pennies, you can find these bags used. There’s this place, RealReal, they sell ‘em cheaper. Used, mind you, but cheaper. Still gonna cost ya, though, don’t you be thinkin’ it’ll be cheap as dirt.
Why is it So Expensive?
That’s what gets me, you know? Why folks pay so much for a bag. They say it’s the materials, the leather and all, and how well it’s made. Made in some place called Italy. Sounds far off. But mostly, you’re payin’ for the name, that Saint Laurent fella. Just like them other fancy brands, Chanel, Dior, them fellas too. You’re payin’ extra just for the name on the bag. Makes no sense to me, but hey, folks do what they want with their money.
Different Kinds of Envelope Bags
Now, they got all sorts of these Envelope bags. Some big, some small, some made outta leather, some outta that… uh… suede stuff, feels like a fuzzy animal. Some got chains for straps, some got leather. And they come in all sorts of colors, black, brown, red, probably even pink, for all I know. This small one, they say it’s good for goin’ out in the evenin’. Guess that means it’s for parties and such.
Is it Cheaper in Europe?
Heard tell it’s cheaper over in Europe, Paris and them places. Maybe twenty percent cheaper, or even more if you can get that tax money back. Somethin’ about tourists gettin’ a deal. But then you gotta fly all the way over there, so I don’t see how you’re savin’ much, unless you’re already goin’, I suppose.
My Thoughts on This Fancy Bag
Well, I ain’t gonna lie, it looks nice, real nice. But I can’t see spendin’ that kinda money on a bag. I got better things to do with my money, like payin’ bills and puttin’ food on the table. But if you got the money and you like it, well, go ahead and buy it. It ain’t my place to tell you what to do with your money. Just remember, a name don’t make a bag hold more stuff, and it sure don’t make you a better person. It’s just a bag, plain and simple. Though, I reckon if you carried this Saint Laurent Envelope Bag around, folks might think you’re somebody. Maybe that’s why folks buy ‘em. Who knows? City folks are strange.
Looking at Saint Laurent Online
So I took a gander at this Saint Laurent’s website, this “official online store” they talk about. Fancy, it is. Pictures of all sorts of things, not just bags. Clothes and shoes, like I said. All lookin’ expensive, and the models, all skinny and serious lookin’. Guess that’s what fashion is all about. They even got somethin’ called “ready to wear”. Ready to wear where, I wonder? To the store? To church? These city folk and their fancy words.
Used Bags and Such
Now, them used bags, they might be a good deal, if you really want one of these Saint Laurent things. Ninety percent off, they say, at that RealReal place. Still gonna cost ya, though. And who knows where that bag has been? Maybe some fancy lady carried it around, or maybe it just sat in a closet. You never know with used things.
In Conclusion…
So, there you have it. That’s all I know about this Yves Saint Laurent Envelope Bag. It’s fancy, it’s expensive, and it’s got a fancy name. Whether it’s worth it or not, well, that’s up to you. Me, I’ll stick with my old canvas tote, thank you very much. It holds my stuff just fine, and it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg. But hey, to each their own, I always say.
