Okay, so I’ve been eyeing this OMEGA Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch, the one with the open case back, for a while now. It’s a classic, you know? The kind of watch that just screams “I appreciate a good timepiece.” Anyway, I finally decided to pull the trigger and ordered one. It wasn’t cheap, but I figured it’s an investment, right?
I went through all the usual channels, scoured the internet for the best deal. Ended up finding a good offer. Seemed like the real deal, it’s not easy to get one these days. After placing the order, it was just the waiting game. Every day, I’d be checking my email like a hawk, hoping for that shipping confirmation.
Finally, the day arrived. A package was waiting for me when I got home. I ripped it open like a kid on Christmas morning. There it was, in all its glory. The watch was nestled in a nice box. It’s about 42mm, which is a decent size, not too big, not too small. And the thickness is around 13mm. It is just like the original model worn on the Moon!
- First thing I noticed was the weight. It feels substantial, but not heavy.
- The dial is black, super clean and easy to read. It’s got that Super-LumiNova stuff on the hands and indexes, so it glows in the dark, which is pretty cool.
- I flipped it over to check out the open case back. Man, it’s a beauty. You can see all the little gears and springs working together.
I wound it up—it’s a manual-wind, which I actually prefer—and put it on. It felt perfect on my wrist. I spent the next few hours just staring at it, admiring the craftsmanship. It’s got a quartz ETA G10 movement. This is really a great watch. I’ve been wearing it every day since, and I gotta say, I’m in love. It’s a conversation starter, too. People always ask me about it.
If you’re a watch guy, or even if you’re not, I highly recommend checking out the OMEGA Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch. It’s a piece of history, a work of art, and a damn good watch, all rolled into one. Trust me, you won’t regret it. It is a timeless piece, and the design has remained largely unchanged since then. Getting an original order is worth every penny you paid!
