Today, I really wanted to check out the new OMEGA Speedmaster “Silver Snoopy Award” 50th Anniversary edition that’s only at specialty stores. So, I got up early this morning and made my way to the OMEGA boutique.

When I arrived, I was greeted by a staff member and I immediately asked about the Snoopy watch. I’d heard it was a big deal. They were super friendly and brought it out for me to see. Man, it looked even better in person! The design is really something, combining this cute animation with some serious watchmaking art. I was instantly drawn to it, all of this to celebrate that 50th anniversary thing.

I spent a good amount of time examining the watch. This one, launched on 5th October, is not a limited one, so I guess there is a chance for me to get one.

  • I tried it on my wrist and it felt really comfortable.
  • The weight was just right, not too heavy, not too light.
  • The details on the dial were amazing, especially the little Snoopy.

I learned that this watch is powered by the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861, so it’s not just about looks, it’s got some serious tech inside. Also, the staff told me something about the older versions. They said, “A white Snoopy came in 2015 in honor of Apollo 13’s 45th anniversary, and a 50th-anniversary ‘Silver Snoopy’ version was released in 2020. All three are regarded as among the most reliable investment-grade OMEGA watches.”

After chatting for a while and getting all the info, I decided to think about it, because it is not cheap. I thanked the staff and left the store.

Later in the day, I did some more digging online. Seems like this watch is pretty popular and it is a good collection. That got me even more interested. People were saying all good things about it.

So, by the evening, I’d pretty much made up my mind. I rang up the store and put in my order. It’s not an everyday purchase, for sure, but it’s something special. I figured, why not? It’s a cool way to celebrate something historical, and it’s a beautiful watch. Can’t wait to get my hands on it!
