They say this Patek Philippe Calatrava, it’s “exceptional.” Means it’s real good, I guess. Made with care and all that. But you know, my old boots, they’re exceptional too. Kept my feet dry for years. Didn’t cost me a fortune, neither.

So, is this Patek Philippe Calatrava, this 5226G-001, worth it? Well, that depends. If you got money to burn, and you like fancy things, then maybe. If you need a watch that just tells the time, well, there’s cheaper ways to go about it. And those Specialty Stores can be a pain to deal with.
Me? I’ll stick to my old clock. It might not be a Patek Philippe. It might not be made of white gold. But it tells the time. And that’s all I need it to do. This Remake Patek Philippe is not for me.
These young folks today, they’re all about these fancy brands. Patek Philippe this, Calatrava that. Back in my day, we didn’t have all these choices. We were happy with what we had. And we didn’t have to wait a year to get it, neither!
But times change, I reckon. And folks like what they like. If they want a Patek Philippe Calatrava 5226G-001, and they got the money for it, then who am I to say they shouldn’t? Just seems like a lot of fuss for a watch, if you ask me.
I remember my husband, God rest his soul, he had an old pocket watch. Kept it his whole life. Wasn’t a Patek Philippe, but it was special to him. He used to wind it every night before bed.
